Decided to just go for it an have an actual pokemon battle. Wasn’t sure if I would, because I don’t think fights translate to a comic extremely well, but it is the right thing to do.
Good lord, I had no idea how much I’ve missed writing Rachael until this strip. Comics like these are why doing the “ignorance” character trope is worth while. No one familiar with Pokemon would make this joke. But its an amazing joke.
I can’t find a link to an actual trope. Not sure how often this has been done then. I’d say it’s happened in Erfworld. But Erfworld has too long of a tropes page for me to find it
Look, my favorite par of this is the saying “the game is on the other afoot now.” It is totally something Rachael would say
What was in his pockets? No idea. Only seen one of those packages before…
Man, that last panel took a while to figure out. Still not super happy about it, but it’ll work. The transition to the next panel is rough, but whatever.
Rewound time just a tad there. Hope that was obvious…
Man, behind schedule, so what do I do? I make a super technical artsy page. I hope you enjoy these 2 panels, because the rest of the week’s will be rushed to compensate.
If I knew what I was doing I’d consider doing the last 2 panels in sepia. Or maybe use a 70’s photograph type pallet. Instead, out flashback won’t have any of that.
If you have suggestions about how to indicate flashback, I’d love to hear them!
Having Ricky go on a side quest was a last minute addition, and I’m so glad I came up with it- It keeps the “Why didn’t he say something?” from coming up…
Don’t have much to say about this one. It might be a useful one later, once I explain why three interesting things happened here. But who knows if I’ll ever say what it is.
Decided to split this strip into 2 strips. That’s why its a double panel in the middle there.
