Let’s talk about something that I do horribly that is near and dear to every players heart: money. Filthy Lucre. Dollars, dineros, pounds, pesos. Cold hard cash. What ever you call it, I have a problem with it.

This was week 16, the final week of ‘Season 1’ of Shop D&D, the conclusion of ‘The Ballad of the Blue Fox’ and one of the worst sessions, from my perspective, that I have run thus far.

Week 5 was a weird week in D&D. Because there was a problem, but it wasn’t really my fault, but then, it kind of was because of the stories I was telling? And heralded my current issues of D&D. Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: March 9th, 2016”
Week 4 of D&D brought another player from me homegroup to the table, an another new player in general, ripped a disadvantage out of a racial feature, and showed how jailbreaks are not supposed to go. Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: March 2nd, 2016”
Still working my way forward, Week 3 of game play features the introduction of our fourth and fifth players, the first mention of the Blue Fox, and marked the first “encounter ending spell” at shop D&D. Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: February 24th, 2016”
I’m trying to back fill all the Shop D&D/What I did wrong articles. So let’s roll back the clock to the middle of February, to the first game I ran on a Wednesday. Thursdays hadn’t been panning out, as my interested player was interested in the type of MTG they played on Thursdays. He was free Wednesdays, I had the day open, so I gave it a shot. So this week, being week 15 of Shop D&D, some players confronted me, saying they had been reading the blog. (Okay, ATM, they’re probably the only ones reading the blog- other than random bored people from Twitter) It was a weird feeling, that people had read what I had written, that things I used to say “Oh, I wrote about this thing I want to tell you” is now replyed with a “I know, I read it.” Its not a bad odd, but it is an odd. My fledgling popularity does not keep me from making mistakes, however! On to what you came here for! Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: June 15th, 2016”
These Scattered Isles (TSI) is a D&D setting we started using early 2015. It was half baked when we jumped into it, made a bit of a splash and, finally, with the group kind of falling apart, I decided to wrap it up. But the world itself was pretty cool and I’d love to run it again. But, one of the big things I knew was I would need to put a lot of work into it. That’s what this is.
