Week 4 of D&D brought another player from me homegroup to the table, an another new player in general, ripped a disadvantage out of a racial feature, and showed how jailbreaks are not supposed to go. Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: March 2nd, 2016”
Still working my way forward, Week 3 of game play features the introduction of our fourth and fifth players, the first mention of the Blue Fox, and marked the first “encounter ending spell” at shop D&D. Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: February 24th, 2016”
I’m trying to back fill all the Shop D&D/What I did wrong articles. So let’s roll back the clock to the middle of February, to the first game I ran on a Wednesday. Thursdays hadn’t been panning out, as my interested player was interested in the type of MTG they played on Thursdays. He was free Wednesdays, I had the day open, so I gave it a shot. We had three players and we never went back to Thursdays. Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: February 17th, 2016”
As I mentioned last week, we did a bit of playing in These Scattered Isles (TSI). It never really went as I planned, but its still helpful ground to build off of. And it’ll be helpful to designate what we want to save as we go forward…
So this week, being week 15 of Shop D&D, some players confronted me, saying they had been reading the blog. (Okay, ATM, they’re probably the only ones reading the blog- other than random bored people from Twitter) It was a weird feeling, that people had read what I had written, that things I used to say “Oh, I wrote about this thing I want to tell you” is now replyed with a “I know, I read it.” Its not a bad odd, but it is an odd. My fledgling popularity does not keep me from making mistakes, however! On to what you came here for! Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: June 15th, 2016”
These Scattered Isles (TSI) is a D&D setting we started using early 2015. It was half baked when we jumped into it, made a bit of a splash and, finally, with the group kind of falling apart, I decided to wrap it up. But the world itself was pretty cool and I’d love to run it again. But, one of the big things I knew was I would need to put a lot of work into it. That’s what this is. Continue reading “These Scattered Isles: Prepping a D&D Campaign Ep. 0: Mission statement”
This is week 14 of Shop D&D and as I’m still struggling with where we’re headed in the Ballad of the Blue Fox (Totes just came up with that. Is that a good title?) so I had planned to do a secondary thing. But that didn’t go to plan at all. Continue reading “What I did Wrong at D&D: June 8, 2016”
A new month, a new set of mistakes! This is Week 13 of Shop D&D Continue reading “What I Did Wrong at D&D: June 1, 2016”
Novice! That was the word I was looking for!
This was Week 12 of Shop D&D. It was not a good week for me.
This is week 11 of Shop D&D and I started a new adventure that I will pretentiously call “The Vampire of Mosray.”
