This weekly article that no one reads thing is starting to wear on me. But I shall persevere. Gives me something to do at work. Continue reading “RPG Musings: Pokémon Hexcrawl”
So this is one of those plot points that suddenly came to me out of nowhere as I was writing this final push. It’s what happens when you build a world in verisimilitude, then apply some outlying individuals, and, all of a sudden, there is a bit of a background cop drama in the midst of our Pokemon tour.
The Anime never had this many layers.
Is this legal for Jenny to do?
I have no idea. But she’s doing it. Who knows how law works. In smaller towns, I’m thinking of them more in an Wild West Sheriff type of way. I dunno.
Sorry for the erratic comic stuff. I plan to go back in the website’s archives and wiggle things around so that re-reading is smoother. (not applicable for people who read the thing on Patron or DA.)
So yeah, last page, Natu looked really small, that was just me sucking at art. This is the size he is. A bit smaller than a volleyball but not by much.
Officer Jenny does have a heart, but she has really good reasons for being mean. I think. I’m pretty sure. She’s doing it anyway, at least.
I drew this on an art stream. Started doing that again. My day is beginning to look like come home from work, take a quick nap if needed (oh man it so was today!!) and then stream whatever comic project I’m working. I don’t know my schedule, it’s probably best if you follow me on twitter or on twitch or tell me you look for that somewhere else I haven’t been alerting. It’s laid back listening to music, and honestly, if you want to hop on Discord and talk a bit, that’s cool too. Yeah.
Hey, it’s a Natu! Cool! As far as I can tell, Natu aren’t able to open their beaks, but I need it for expression and actions and stuff. Doesn’t make sense, in my mind, but then, i think they’re supposed to be hieroglyphs? Not sure.
Drawing this bird is weird, but I’ll figure it out, don’t worry. It’ll just take me some time.
Wait, Jenny! Didn’t we see a Pokeball run away last strip??
Hmm. I still haven’t figured out how to use Charge-cam speedlines. I probably need to do some research, probably by buying some Jack Kirby comics.
Hasn’t Timmy made that pose before? 0-o
So, I decided to go from Growlithe saying part of his name to just making a barking type sound. I’m not sure about it and would appreciiate feedback from pokemon peoples. If Growlithe had a name that lent itself to doggie sounds, I may have used it. (like Lillipup) I dunno
Incidentally, one of the cool things about the WordPress stuff is I can tag characters, so you can see when the character has shown up. Granted, that’s not useful if you need to see a specific Rachael strip, but it is kind of nifty. Thought I should throw that out there.
I considered ending the chapter right here. This is not the end of the chapter. I have a bit more I want to do before the slight time jump a new chapter provides. But I could have ended it here. Remember that.
Good comic for a Friday, tho. 😀
I learned a lot about the Rocket Henchman there as I was picking his colors. Not that I had many to choose, but he received a lot of back-end characterization during that step.
Man, I wish I had some program to help with lighting. Also in figuring out how a trenchcoat looks from that angle. I don’t like panel 4 there, but whatever.
‘Redeye’s’ Eye looks less creepy than the last time we saw it. Not sure why. I’ll figure that out when I draw him way too many times in the future, I’m sure.
So, in case you didn’t notice, and in case I haven’t said, MY Team Rocket is actually evil. And rather competent. And scary. Yeah, scary is what I’m looking for…
