I did a lot of thinking on FTD&D on the trip. I have a villain with a name, some cool powers and minions and I think this has the potential to be a good adventure, even without the FT part. So that’s cool. But I’ve hit a bit of a snag that I want to talk about today.
I made it to CO safely, if loopy. I spent the day with family, playing games and catching up. Hopefully tomorrow’s will be done earlier, with planning and stuff. I did a lot of thinking on the drive. One of my thought may be a little useless, but I’m going to share it anyway! Continue reading “Daily D&D Ramble: What if Primes were important?”
Okay, after my random idea of Fixed Table D&D yesterday, I’ve thought about it a bit more and its definitely something I want to try. And I think it’s time for me to finally start a group for playing stuff like this. It shall be called the Experimental Games Society. We shall start to assemble and try to do something after my trip. (yeah, I’m going out of town for a week and a half. I hope to keep the rambles up. Gygax knows I’ll have enough driving time to come up with ideas)
But we’ll handle all that later. On to FTD&D! Continue reading “Daily D&D Ramble: Jonesing for Fixed Table”
These thoughts are reflections I had from reading Angry’s recent articles. You should read those. They’re better than mine. Longer, and better thought out. He’s at theangrygm.com. Continue reading “Daily D&D Ramble: Something is missing”
Okay, today was going to be the Angry Review, but then I had to spend all day doing research into another thing and, well, I decided I needed to rant about a few things. So here we go. Continue reading “Daily D&D Ramble: Verbal Pedantry”
I’d really prefer to spend today talking about how awesome the AngryDM’s articles, but I do have that awesome name scheme that I feel obligated to keep up with. So here we go! Continue reading “TSI Fridays: Rambling about cults”
I collect D&D manuals. I’ve only played in 4e and 5e, but I have a large swath of books that I can look over. And even though the rules within don’t do me any good, I still find useful things inside of them. Continue reading “Daily D&D Ramble: Manuals past”
I don’t know how to run wizards. I mean, I can play a wizard, but running them for a fight? Whole different question. Continue reading “Daily D&D Ramble: I suck at wizards”
Daily articles? Who’s bright idea was this? Whatever. Let’s talk about building characters for a bit. Continue reading “Daily D&D Ramble 4: Why everyone should make characters in their spare time”
On Thursday, I received two very similar messages. The first was from my little brother, who was apparently running a game of D&D the next day and needed some fast advice. The other was from our DM, who had to plead unavailable and now I will be running a small thing Saturday night.
This is what I call: Par for the course. Once you have elected to bear the torch of the DM, it stays with you and you will be called upon. Getting some time to prepare is a rare occasion. Continue reading “Daily D&D Ramble: The worst type of call”
